We love our grandparents!!!

September 10th was grandparents day for us here at school and we had so much fun visiting with the grandmothers who were able to join us!  We also prepared by creating poems to take to our grandparents and we shared what we loved most about our grandparents!  To end our celebration of grandparents, we ate cookies and drank some yummy juice! :)

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom...we are having so much fun in our room!!

We finished up our Kindergarten review the week of August 26th and to celebrate that Friday, we had a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom party!  We made handprint coconut trees, explored a real coconut from the outside in, and had a silly taste test.  It was a fun day to close out our review of the alphabet!

We love first grade!!!

This was one more "following directions" activity.  They created the school house by following the oral and visual directions I gave them!  Didn't they do a great job?!!  They were so proud and they all turned out just a little different.  :)

All about me!

We practiced following directions using a glyph.  There were 3 questions I asked them to answer and their answer helped them create an image of themselves.  They turned out really cute and followed directions pretty well. 

Literacy Centers

They are also doing great getting into the swing of literacy centers.  They have practiced their handwriting, read some silly words playing the game SQUISH!, and worked on ABC order using school words. 

Math Centers

We started math centers last week and each day, we are getting better and better with the activities and the rules.  They have been practicing skills like number recognition, different ways to make numbers, number sequencing, and so much more!  They get so excited every time we get ready for centers.  Time to learn to work together and great time to talk about numbers and math!
