Our first butterfly!!

Math Center Fun

These guys amaze me every day with their thinking and independence!!  I just sit back so proud, thinking how far they have come during this year.  They work so hard and they are learning so much everyday.  Here is some of the learning going on during math centers.

Jelly Bean Graphing

We have just started our chapter in math on gathering data and looking at it to answer questions.  We decided to use jelly beans today since Easter is coming up and  to graph how many they found in their cup. Also, which one was our class favorite!  It is also National Jelly Bean Day next Tuesday, so what a fun way to celebrate!

Measuring Around the Room

We just finished our chapter in math on measurement and time.  The kids had fun working in groups to measure different objects around the room. We used a special tool we made from 10 paper clips one day.  A few days later, we used the colored tiles to measure a different set of objects. We were focusing on non-standard forms of measurement.  I loved seeing them work together.

Circus Field Trip- April 4th

We all had a blast at the circus!  The kids have talked about all the things they got to see while there for weeks.  We even spent some time writing about all the fun stuff we saw to share with others.  Here are a few pictures from the trip.  Spending some time updating since I have not done so in a while.  Enjoy! :)
