Open House

Tomorrow night is our Open House!  I'm so excited for the kiddos to show off their school and all the learning going on!   There will be parent volunteers (photographers) there to take candid family portraits.  We will be hanging these photos around the school.  Hope to see you there from 5:30-7:00!!  

1st Writing Samples

These kiddos have been working hard in their portfolios, doing their 1st writing sample.  I'm super proud of their hard work!

Lots of Learning Going On!

We have had a great week of learning.  We have worked on finding details in a story to help retell, thought about the problems and found solutions, and visualized what was happening in the story as we read.  Thanks to Alexander in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, we have also learned our attitude can determine what kind of day we will have.  Good lesson to learn!  In math, we have done tons of graphing and learned about patterns found in numbers.  So much fun!! Lots more exciting things to come to close out the week😊

Sight Word Olympics

We had our very own Sight Word Olympics yesterday!  We had an opening ceremony, parading around the room.  We had two games, sight word basketball and musical sight words.  We learned about the amazing Jesse Owens and the history of the Olympic Rings.  We closed out the day with a directed drawing of our very own Olympic Rings! It was a wonderful day!  

Friendship

We have been talking about what good friends do.  We have also learned sign language for "you are my friend".  Today, we talked about word families and rhyming words today. The students helped fill in a couple of missing words to complete our Friendship poem!

1st Full Week...Fun, fun, fun!!!

We have been working hard to get into a routine and get to know each other.  Loving these sweet faces already!  

August 10th- 1st Day Drop Off

Feel free to come with your child to school from 8:30-9:00.  You may park in front of the building on this 1st day since the buses will be gone.  See you all next Wednesday!  :)
