Storyteller

We had a fantastic storyteller on Friday, Ms. Rose Myers!  She was amazing and really kept the kids engaged and brought them into the story telling!  I hope the kids came home and shared some of the stories!

Digital Books

The kids were busy Thursday getting started on their digital books about the butterfly's life cycle.  They wrote about each stage as we watched it inside their journals, and then took that writing and put it in their digital books.

Working Together

These guys did an amazing job last week answering some questions about our reading story this week. They were asked to work as a team to find evidence in the text to answer the questions and boy did they do a fantastic job!  Love seeing them work together!

Butterfly Freedom

We have truly enjoyed each stage of the butterflies life cycle!  We have watched them from tiny caterpillars through full grown butterflies...this last month has flown by for sure!  After spending lots of time observing our insects, reading and learning as much as we could about these beautiful creatures, and learning about each stage they went through, we also took the time to write about them.  We are also going to be creating digital books about the life cycle, using our observations over the weeks we have had them.  Today we set them free into their natural habitat.  They all seemed happy to be free and we were excited they all survived! :)  What sweet memories made this Spring!!

Our first butterfly!!

Math Center Fun

These guys amaze me every day with their thinking and independence!!  I just sit back so proud, thinking how far they have come during this year.  They work so hard and they are learning so much everyday.  Here is some of the learning going on during math centers.

Jelly Bean Graphing

We have just started our chapter in math on gathering data and looking at it to answer questions.  We decided to use jelly beans today since Easter is coming up and  to graph how many they found in their cup. Also, which one was our class favorite!  It is also National Jelly Bean Day next Tuesday, so what a fun way to celebrate!
