We have had an exciting week learning about the first Thanksgiving! We learned how the Native American's helped the Pilgrims when they first arrived on the Mayflower. We learned about a very helpful Indian named Squanto who could speak English and helped them learn how to hunt. We also talked about the significance of corn for both the Pilgrims and Native Americans. It provided them with a small variety in their diet throughout the year.
Today, we made a quilt using construction paper just like the Pilgrims used to do with fabric to make blankets to keep themselves warm. We also read the book Stone Soup and talked about how sharing and working together as a team helps to create great things! I know we all have taken a lot from this week and will have many wonderful memories about what we have learned about the very first Thanksgiving and how blessed we all truly are!! I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving break and makes many wonderful memories with your families!

Friday Fun
We took some time at the end of the day on Friday to clean the desk and get in some spelling practice using shaving cream! They had so much fun practicing their spelling words and writing in the slimy goo! :)
